How to save a lot on a wedding dress

Looking to do some wedding bargain hunting? It can be hard to find wedding dresses for cheap especially because more and more brides are starting to look for used dresses as a way to cut down on wedding expenses. For every bride, who will have an extremely good price on a used dress, there are ten others who give up in frustration and end up spending big money on theirs. Here are my tips to find a Used Wedding Dress for less.

A consignment shop may be a great way to get a good deal on a used wedding dress. Of course you should be okay with the fact that someone else has worn it before you! There are even some consignment shops specializing in used wedding dresses and clothing. Besides all the money you save, a nice thing by buying from a consignment store is that you will take the dress home with you right away. This method of finding a dress requires quite a bit of perseverance and patience. Consignment shops only receives a handful of dresses each month, so Be on the lookout.

The local classifieds are another good place to look for a used wedding dress. Many brides who have unfortunately had their weddings canceled, the ends of their dresses in classifieds. These are essentially brand new dress and has only been tried on a couple of times. Also be sure to check out Craigslist, if available in your area.

The only disadvantage of buying a used wedding dress is that it probably will need some modifications done to it. Many bridal shops will only do changes in the dresses they sell. In this case you will have to find a seamstress who will make changes to your gown. Remember that talented seamstresses hard to find and can be quite pricey. You'll have to weigh the costs associated with changes in relation to how much you have saved to buy her dress.
