Anything to do with your wedding except your groom, of course, will almost always come with a price and wedding favors are no exception.

There are a number of different wedding favors that you can buy or make, and we cover a number of these in the near future.

We thought we would start of the wedding favor train with a simple way on how to make chocolate truffles.

This is a perfect little gift for guests, and much can be done cheaply. Put them in a favor box that can be bought bought flat-packed in packs of 100 or 50 or wrap in cllophane with a ribbon to give your guests a sweet deal with a personal touch.

Step one: Buy the ingredients
To make about 40 truffles you need 800g of ganache and 300g of chocolate (milk, white or dark – you decide).

Step Two: Ingredients for the Ganache filling

You will need 800g of chocolate of their choice, 45g liquid glucose (available from supermarkets) and 220ml of whipping cream (that's the one with the green top, if you send hubby to be out for the ingredients) 60 g unsalted butter, and if you want to taste the liquor of your choice or why not try mint, vanilla, coffee or orange extract (not essence).

Step Three: Ready Steady start to cook
Start with ganache.Break chocolate in each field – you can slap it on your work top (while still in wrapping) and do not believe all the nonsense about, boiling pans and Pyrex bowls, sticks it in the microwave for about a minute and a half, give it a stir, and then some second minute. Remember the chocolate melt carry on when you took it out – Stir the chocolate, if you have a few small lumps, they will quickly disappear, if not give them a second blast for about 20 seconds.

Step four: Add the rest of the ingredients
Next put your cream, butter and liquid glucose in one pot – Tip of the day, hot tea spoon over the spout of a boiling cauldron, dry dry.This warms up the spoon and glucose will slide out of the spoon easier. Heat until the butter has melted and all as soon as the mixture begins to boil remove from heat.

Add this to the melted chocolate and stir thoroughly. Wait for the mixture to cool before you add any flavorings.

Step five: Get whisking
When ganache has cooled, whisk with an electric beater until smooth and creamy, place teaspoons of the mixture on a greasproof baking sheet, place in refrigerator for about half an hour. Take out of refrigerator and roll them into a ball – work faster, because chocolate begins to melt (and accept the fact that it is messy), return them to the fridge for about an hour.

Melt the remaining chocolate and let it cool little, take truffles from refrigerator and roll in the melted chocolate and then return to refrigerator. You can repeat this for about half an hour if you wish.

Step 6: Packaging
You should now see the beautiful handmade truffles, pop them in an airtight box and leave in the fridge, they will last up to six months.

To pack them buy some celophane from a florist, cut it into squares, wrap them up, tie with a ribbon and make a name tag if you want. You can even buy individual bags top put them in.
