While strapless dresses will always be a popular style of wedding dress, 2010 creates more opportunities to cover up. Formal drag and bolero jackets are available from many wedding dress designers in 2010, with options for adding straps for the reception.

Pick-up style of wedding dresses have been coming out of wedding fashion for the past few years, but 2010 signals an end to the wedding trend. While some discount wedding lines may feature a dress or two with pick-up style skirt, they will not dominate the wedding fashion scene as they did in the past.

Colors other than white will continue to play a role in the 2010 wedding trends. Some wedding dresses will feature small splashes of color, such as a contrasting color sash. Other popular wedding dress colors will be champagne, deep ivory and antique gold.

Girdles back wedding dresses will continue to be popular in 2010, as will tea-length wedding dresses. These flattering opportunities have sold well enough that designers are expanding these opportunities within their wedding fashion lines.

A change in the wedding color palette marks the start of a new season of wedding fashion. While 2009 boasted soft colors, 2010 wedding color trends are about bold color choices.
