Of all the various weapons in use today, and all the different weapons that have existed throughout history, swords are by far the noblest. Yes, the swords are brutally effective weapons. But they are much more than that.

In the past, reigning monarchs and members of the royal family members of the nobility and various other prestigious men, all carried swords not just as weapons, but as a traditional, highly visible signs of their status. Even today, swords and their close relatives – such as scimitars – continue to be a cross-cultural signal of high achievement or high social status.

In the military, swords were and still are, traditionally performed only by officers and, in some cases, mounted horsemen. Sword used to cut, stack, strike and slash, and they have the longest range of any sharp weapons. In medieval ages, a knight took his sword as his main weapon, and with the possible exception of his horse, probably the most important possession he owned. The sharp weapon of non-infantry, usually knives, Dirks and daggers, were much less than the sword and far less deadly, with much shorter wings. These small edged weapons were also much less prestigious to wear and disseminated no sign of the wearer's social status.

Sword Nomenclature.

A sword consists of a very long single-edged or double-edged blade and an attached hilt, which is a collective term that includes pommel, grip and a simple or elaborate guard. The swords in some cultures use wings, while other cultures designed sword or saber-type weapon with slightly curved blades. But the fundamental underlying design of all swords are remarkably similar. Sword which typically takes place while sheathed in protective leather and metal scabbards, attached to the waist. Ceremonial swords are usually made of gold or sterling silver, and their knives and scabbards is often very elaborately engraved or inscribed. Sometimes the sword on call and / or vagina is Bejeweled.
