Autumn is just around the corner, and although you will be sorry to say goodbye to those long summer days, it has a chance again to breathe new life into your wardrobe with the season upcoming fashion.

From eclectic Scottish design for the excessive power-dressing styles that the trends for the second half of 2009 promises to be daring and innovative, and most importantly of all, memorable. The first of the trends to watch out for next season is the Popular Girl. A quirky take on the Hammer House of Horror film dressing, mix the Popular Girl frail damsel in distress with the vicious vampire through Gothic lace cobweb-esque knits and line-crushed velvet.

Victorian nightwear is converted and displayed in ivory dyed cardigans, bed jackets and corsets. While feminine chiffon featuring ruffles offset by more grungy pieces. 80s inspired denim jackets, shirts and jeans are cut and bleach sprayed and looks good team with distressed leather.

The look is toughened up with studs and eyelets, while the prints are either abstract in dark oxblood, scarlet and green forest or tongue-in-cheek with haunted houses, bleeding poppies, blood dripping stripes and motifs such as' be afraid "and" Kiss of the Vampire ".

Next up is Highland, where the traditional Scottish casual clothing meets English eccentric. Knit is back with an heirloom and handcrafted quality to it, and put up to date with extended or reversed Fair Isle patterns. A Highland deer gives a lighthearted chewing and looks great teamed with tartan.

Casual coats are also important in this time of year and this year's jackets are designed with the great outdoors in mind. In moss green, royal blue and brown, they have grown, or quilted panels. A collection of military inspired coats are smart also expected, including styles such as a maxi trench in the sand and a double breasted check coat made of a nice tactile yarn.

The next trend is to resurface this summer brings us back in time to 1980s cocktail party scene. Known as the "Manhattan Cocktail", this style is based on exaggerated forms and show-stopping colors, fabrics and textures. Silhouettes are emphasized – structured jackets are key, bodycon dresses in simple jersey is ignited shoulder pads, and bandeau tops and dresses in leather is corseted and flare out into waist.

Animal prints are used everywhere; multi-colored leopard print appears on the skirts and jersey pieces, while mock croc ankle boots are 'over the top' glamor. Gold highlights provide accessories for a new season contact with sparkling buckles on belts, clutch bags and heels.

Another flash from the past, which is hitting stores this fall's "Marianne" style. This eclectic collection of vintage glamor fused with grunge takes inspiration from the 70s groupies and have a dress-up box feel. Luxurious fabrics have an antique finish, sequins are spotted, it seems fake hair tangled and chunky knits are tattered and sad.

Of course these are just a few of the many styles are expected to appear this autumn. From leopard print the Scottish knitwear, the latest Topshop fashion video shows all the key looks for autumn 2009, a season that promises to be colorful, entertaining and most of all exciting.
