Lace Bell Sleeve

When you buy your wedding dress, you should first consider which gown style you prefer. When choosing your Wedding Dress Style, consider the silhouette, sleeves, neckline, upper and trains. The following is guide to the basic terminology of popular wedding gown styles.

Silhouette

* A-line – The A-line or princess gown has no marked waist and vertical seams flow from the shoulders down to a flared skirt, creating an "A" form.
* Ball Dresses – These dresses usually very formal, remind you of Cinderella. The upper part is equipped with a very full skirt.
* Empire – Empire dresses have a high waistline that starts just below the bust, flowing to a slender (but not body-hugging) skirt.
* Mermaid – As the name suggests, the little mermaid dress is curved towards the body, so the dress flows from the beginning around the knees. This is the sexiest of the styles.
* Sheath – The sheath or column dress has a slim shape that closely follows the line of the body. The proper design is form-fitting, and does not allow for many body missing.

The Sleeves

* 3 / 4 sleeves – final between elbow and wrist.
* Bell – Long sleeves that flare out toward the wrist creating a bell shape.
* Cap – rounded sleeves, just covers the shoulders.
* Mounted point – long, fitted sleeves that come to a point above the hand.
* Juliet – long, fitted sleeves with puffy shoulders.
* Long sleeves – long sleeves, usually form-fitting.
* Off-the-shoulder sleeves – cover the upper arm, but leaves the top of the exposed shoulders.
* Poet – long sleeves, mounted on the elbow as flares.
* Pouf — short sleeves, gathered to create a poufy look.
* Short sleeves – the length of the T-shirt sleeves.
* Sleeveless – strapless sleeveless.
* Spaghetti straps – thin spaghetti straps without sleeves.

The neckline

* Bateau – close to just above the tip of the shoulder. Provides plenty of coverage.
* Halter – wraps around the neck to create deep armholes. Often also a backless style, which is very sexy.
* High – covers most of the neck. Creates a formula somewhat stiff look.
* Jewel – equivalent to a T-shirt. Creates a Bustier look.
* Off-The-Shoulder – as the name suggests, the top of the shoulders are bare. Showcases your collarbone and shoulders.
* Portrait – a very wide scoop from the tip of one shoulder to the tip of the second.
* Scoop – classic U-shaped neckline. Can be cut low for a sexier look.
* Square – square neckline, often associated with the empire dresses.
* Strapless – usually just above. Not recommended for women with small busts.
* Sweetheart – shaped like the top half of a heart. Emphasizes cleavage.
* V-Neck – dive in front of a V-shape. Can be very deep.

The upper
The upper part refers to the portion of the dress between the neckline and skirt.

* Corset – a form fitting upper with boning and lace-up closures.
* Halter – Sleeveless upper that wraps around your neck, usually backless.
* Middle floor – fit very closely around the middle part, enhances your waistline.
* Surplice – Parts of drug across the wrap in the front or back.
* Tank – without sleeves with wide armholes that tank top.

Train

* Sweep – 8 ' 12 "in length, only a few inches longer than the dress.
* Court – extends approximately 3 meters from the waist.
* Chapel – extends about 4 feet from waist.
* Cathedral – extends about 6 to 9 feet from the waist.
* Royal – stretches more than 9 feet from the waist.

Veil

* Birdcage — is just below the chin, usually attached to a locket.
* Flyaway – ends up on the shoulder.
* Blusher – worn over your face, about 28 "long.
