How to measure for your wedding dress or gown

If a wedding is in your future and you're tripping over a wedding dress, then at least know your measurements, so you can go window shopping or shop online.

More and more shops are coming online, and it is important that you have an idea of your measurements before ordering. You do not want to waste too much time with a back and forth mail order. Give yourself plenty of time to do a search, but for right now, you have to find out your measurements and size.

Here is a simple guide to go by, to measure yourself for a wedding dress. Bridal measured slightly differently, for example, length measurements are taken from "clavicle" .. (bet you did not know what it was!). It is a hole in the bottom of your throat.

MEASUREMENTS

Stand comfortably with equal weight on both feet and arms resting lightly on the sides.

1 BUST
Measure around the fullest part of bust, keeping tape measure parallel with the floor, it is better done by another person, to prevent band slipping and get a more accurate measurement ..

2 waist
Measurement the natural waistline.

3 HIP
Measure 8-10 "waist to find the best hip. Measure widest part of hips, keeping the tape measure parallel to the floor, best done by someone else ..

4 LENGTH
Dress lengths are taken from the bottom of the clavicle hollow at the front of the neck to the bottom the hem of her dress.
Skirt lengths without belts are taken from the middle of the back, starting with the finished edge of the skirt.
Skirt lengths with belts, is taken from the center back, starting at the bottom waistband seam.

LENGTH MEASUREMENT GUIDE

Once you have these measurements, keep them in your bag when you are shopping in the mall or online, and you will have a good idea of what size to look at that wedding dress sizes tend to differ from ordinary dress sizes.
