A triathlon is one of the most demanding sports there is, but the feeling of completion and results experienced when you have finished a far outweigh the time, effort energy and dedication required for the preparation – not to mention the long-term bragging rights!

Once you've decided to compete in your first triathlon, the you put your money where your mouth is and commit themselves by buying the necessary tools. The Swim

Typical requirements for swimming is a cap, swimming goggles, a nose clip and a swim suit or wetsuit. Because triathletes can not draft that can be done in cycling events, aerodynamics play a big role in the cycling leg of triathlon. Frame tubes are oval rather than round and the wheels may have fewer spokes or even carbon fiber tri spokes or discs. Tri bikes are very similar to time trial bikes.

Tri-bars or aero-bars are designed to reduce steering wind drag on a cyclist. They are attached to the handlebars and have rests for the riders forearms while the hands stretched forward to keep the center bars. This keeps the elbows closer to your body and lowers the torso to allow for better aerodynamics.

Triathletes tend to become obsessed with aerodynamics in their efforts to improve the speed and performance with the result that producers concentrate more on improving triathlon bikes for the disturbing triathlete.

Of course, other devices include cycle helmet, the cycling and triathlon clothing shoes. Triathlon shoes are similar to cycling shoes, they have automatic binding cleats, which allows them to clip into pedals.
